Free Digital Skills Program Coming November 2023

How might we increase awareness of 2SLGBTQIA+ programs and resources in NL?

Help us create NL’s 2SLGBTQIA+ -owned and -inclusive resource app.

Help us create Newfoundland & Labrador's first comprehensive 2SLGBTQIA+ directory of businesses, organizations, and professionals who support the queer and trans community.

We are calling on girls, gender-diverse and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth ages 11-18, residing anywhere in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador to help us build a web app that will make big impact on our communities. Participants will learn digital skills in our virtual workshops (beginner friendly!), build a real webpage that will be included in our app prototype, meet inspiring industry mentors, and be entered to win amazing prizes.

Digital Waves 2023

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible to participate in Digital Waves NL 2023, you must meet the following requirements:

You must reside in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
You must be between the ages of 11-18 during the entire course of the program (November 22 - December 1, 2023).
Your gender identification must be female or gender diverse (e.g. non-binary, two-spirit, gender fluid, agender, or third gender), or self-identify within the 2SLGBTQIA+ spectrum.
You must communicate in English throughout Digital Waves NL virtual events.
Your legal guardian must agree to these terms and conditions on your behalf.
Family members and/or persons who share residences with Digital Waves NL organizers are eligible to participate providing they meet all other eligibility requirements.
Multiple students per household are welcome to join simultaneously.
